Quantity surveying is not a new programme but not many of us know what it actually is.
Diploma in Quantity Surveying prepares students with a wide range of quantifying and managerial skills, construction technologies, economics and legal aspects of construction contract.
The programme is unique in its approach to the measurement work for building construction and also infrastructure works which are related to civil engineering. The aim of this programme is to produce quantity surveying graduates who are well equipped with the fundamental theoretical principles and skills in the field of quantity surveying that would prepare them in practicing the QS discipline.
Take for instance the buildings that we buy, either for our own use or investment, we would never know the process or calculation involved to come out with the building cost. This is where quantity surveyors play a role. They are engaged to calculate the construction costs, control the financial and contractual administration of construction projects.

Thus this programme not only prepares students with the theoretical knowledge but it also provides students with the managerial skill which is useful for working in the industry.
